I have gotten a ton of questions on a few previous posts (Prototyping the Robots Pneumatic Legs Part II, Prototyping the Robots Pneumatic Legs and Robot Pneumatic Locomotion - Bimba and Vex) regarding the Vex Robotics Pneumatics parts. Most folks are looking for part numbers, manufacturer name, whether the air cylinders are quality and the most popular; where did you get that air valve servo solenoid driver? So here are the part numbers and a tad more detailed information on the Vex Pneumatics parts. Also, in addition, I thought I would post two photos. Prior to purchasing, I had no idea how large or small these items were. Be warned, they are miniature, yet powerful and fun.SMC air cylinder: NCJ2D10-200S | Cylinder, Air Push, Spring Return
SMC cylinder M5 fittings: KQ2S04-M5 | Fitting For Cylinders
SMC mini air valve / solenoid: SY113-SMO-PM3-F | Solenoid, On/Off
SMC mini air valve M3 fittings: KJS04-M3 | Fitting For Valves
SMC's web site is kinda bogus. If you are looking to grab SMC parts directly, I recommend dealing with Coast Pneumatics. Don't hesitate to pick up the phone and call these guys, they are super friendly and highly knowledgeable (thanks Ryan!).
The Solenoid Driver Cable has no part number and is not an SMC part. Although this part is not listed on the Vex web site, if you call Innovation First, they will be happy to sell you one for $15 usd.

Thanks for posting this series. I've been working on pneumatically controlled, McKibben-actuated robotic system since the 90s (mostly research, only sporadic building). I discovered Coast by accident (I have a supplier with a warehouse across the street) and they are not only easy to call, if you are in the East LA area, they have a walk-in repair/service desk with lots of surplus parts on sale.
A walk-in repair center must be nice!
